White cement adhesive for applying small sized, absorbent tiles, indoors.
Colla per piastrelle is a premixed white coloured powder, composed of: Portland cement, selected sands and specific additives to improve the workability and physical-mechanical properties. The product complies with the UNI EN 12004 standard and is classified as C1 NPD, "not suitable for outdoor use".
Colla per piastrelle is an adhesive, ideal for laying absorbent tiles such as terracotta, single and double fired tiles on floors and walls, onto different types of substrates: cement screed, cement-based plaster and lime mortar.
The product is not suitable for gluing onto the following substrates: plasterboard, wood, metal, marble tiles, natural stone, over old flooring, vinyl coating, rubber, linoleum, paint, expanded aerated concrete, concrete with low water absorption and substrates with water stagnation.
Can be mixed with water. The product cannot be mixed with other products.
The material keeps for one year if stored in an intact package in a dry and ventilated place.
Consumption is 2.5÷5.0 kg/m2 (based on the type and format of the tiles and the flatness of the substrate).
Mix with a low speed mixer, adding water to the insulation glue in the percentage of around 24÷25% until a homogeneous mixture is obtained.
The useful life of the mixture is approximately 3 hours. Walkable after 24÷36 hours.
Use at ambient temperatures between 10°C and 30°C.
CYCLE: Substrate preparation the substrate you lay the tiles on must be stable, without cracks, not subject to hygrometric shrinkage and has a suitable mechanical strength, without crumbly or loose parts, dust, paint, varnish, and wax, greasy or oily substances.
Any unevenness or irregularities must be firstly flattened by smoothing, using materials of the same kind, that do not affect the water absorption; after applying, it is necessary to wait a couple of days until it is completely dry.
The substrate must be moistened before, if it is very absorbent or the climate is particularly hot and dry or very ventilated.
Colla per piastrelle is mixed by using a low speed mechanical mixer with about 24% water, equal to 6.0 litres per 25 kg sack.
Pour about ¾ of the required water into a clean container, gradually adding the content of the sack, mixing with the mixer, moving it from the bottom to the top, then add the rest of the water until a homogeneous mixture is obtained, free of lumps and with the desired consistency.
WARNINGS: Do not use the adhesive to fill in irregularities of the substrate that are more than 6 mm.
Lay and press the tile on the fresh adhesive, without the surface film.
Do not apply to substrates that are frozen, thawing or with frost risk in the 24 hours after applying.
Do not apply to substrates with the presence of rising damp. Do not apply to non-absorbent substrates.
Wait for two weeks before putting into service.
In highly transitable applications, use the double coating technique on the tile.
Clean equipment and surfaces with water before the material hardens.
The product is ready to use and should be mixed only with potable water. The addition of foreign matter may compromise the technical-applicative characteristics.
